Carringbush is an Australian, family-owned business which was founded by Malcolm & Kerry Bishop in 1976. Their mission was to build up a sustainable financial structure which would support their lifestyle by farming, developing buildings and subdividing land.

Carringbush carefully evaluate, select and deliver on any given opportunity to ensure positive outcomes for all stakeholders through business cycles.

Commercial Property

Carringbush owns and manages a balanced portfolio of commercial properties diversified across office, industrial and retail assets.

Carringbush takes a collaborative approach to the management of each property. The Kermal Investment Hub has been created as an off-shoot of Carringbush to embark on it's own property investments and developments. Kermal was established with the same DNA as Carringbush and is looking to actively pursue viable opportunities

2024

Malcolm & Kerry Bishop of Carringbush donated their 173 year old nail-less historic horse stables which were built on their Property Werai Station. We thought it would be an excellent fit forThe Moulamein Heritage Village.

2015

Carringbush entered into a Joint Venture with Stilhaus to construct 26 townhouses in the seaside village of Mt Coolum on the Sunshine Coast. The project was sold-out prior to the completion of construction. Further information can be seen on Stilhaus' website.

2016

Kermal has completed the development of approximately 10,000m2 of industrial space across four buildings on Indian Drive in Keysborough. Kermal are proud to have tenants the calibre of Sumitomo Tyres, Australian Gypsum Industries, Boral and Bestbar occupying these buildings.

2017

Carringbush entered into a Joint Venture with Stilhaus to deliver a 25 Lot residential land subdivision in Kawana on the Sunshine Coast. All Lots were sold and settled shortly after the completion of construction.

2017

Carringbush Developed their site at Sassafras where it was historically trading as a nursery and retail shop selling gifts and nursery items. After having a win at VCAT we also we able to put a café there. We now have six tenants in and are hoping to get the site rezoned shortly which will give us more flexibility. So this is a work in progress.

2018

Carringbush entered into a Joint Venture with Stilhaus Pty. Ltd to deliver 34 townhouses in Buderim on the Sunshine Coast. Construction is due for completion in November 2019.

Carringbush has elected to capitalise on strong agricultural land values and divest some of its holdings in Glenburn and The Patch. Carringbush remains committed to its beef and cropping programs across Victoria and New South Wales.

2017-2019

We have been downsizing our rural interests and selling some rural land. At The Patch Valley we have seven blocks. We have so far sold our 62 acres approximately, and also a couple of 15 acre Blocks.

We have also sold our property at Glenburn of approx. 3000 acres.

This means we have the main block as well as a couple of others left at The Patch Valley in Kallista. We also have our major property at Werai.

2019

Kermal has secured in excess of 21,000m2 of Commercial 2 zoned land in MAB's Element Park in Clyde North and plans to construct and lease in excess 12,000m2 of commercial space. The first tranche of these buildings are due to be completed in mid-2020.

Carringbush has entered into a Joint Venture with Stilhaus to deliver 24 industrial sheds in Noosa and a 14 Lot residential land subdivision in Palmwoods on the Sunshine Coast. Both projects should be completed in mid-2020.

Meet the Team

Malcolm Bishop

Director and Founder

Having originally trained in the UK as a quantity surveyor, Malcolm has a deep understanding of the fundamentals of property in general. He has spent the last four decades focused on leading the growth Carringbush has enjoyed. Malcolm provides general oversight for the direction of Carringbush.

Kerry Bishop

Director and Founder

Kerry has had a long and distinguished career successfully owning and managing commercial enterprises and is a trained quality auditor. She has provided strong and effective leadership in developing Carringbush into the organization it is today. Kerry continues to play a key role in Carringbush’s ongoing success.

Saul Bishop - B Comm, CPA, AFin

Director

A director since 2008, Saul is responsible for the day-to-day operations at Carringbush whilst making a valuable contribution to strategic decisions. He draws upon a strong technical background coupled with extensive experience in these dual functions. Saul is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) and a member of the Financial Services Industry Association (FINSIA).
